CELIA SILVA, Kumeyaay elder from San Jose de la Zorra, specializes in Kumeyaay coiled juncus baskets, twined baskets, Kumeyaay cloth dolls, clay dolls, and juncus brushes. Celia has taught many Native American basketweaving classes throughout San Diego County, Southern California and Mexico.
Celia began teaching Eva Salazar to weave Kumeyaay traditional baskets when Eva was 8 years old..
