TINA VEGA
Kumeyaay Basket Artist
Tina Vega weaves coiled juncus baskets, basket hats and willow acorn storage baskets. She is famous for her fine coiling. She is the daughter of the community's leader, Andres Vega. Her husband, Joaquin Montes, is one of the only male basketweavers.
Tina lives in the Kumeyaay art community of San Jose de la Zorra, Baja California.
