EL MAYOR Indigenous Tribal Village

EL MAYOR, a small Indigenous village in the Colorado River Delta area of Baja California, Mexico, pictured here in November 2004.

The 2004 photograph documents electric power poles, street lighting, TV antenna, dirt street and the Cocopah mountains in the background.

Because of its close proximity to the main highway, El Mayor appears to have been one of the first Mexican tribal villages to have gotten electricity.
