This well-known Kumeyaay-PaiPai family is from Santa Catarina, Baja California, Mexico, and between them, they make traditional bows & arrows, war clubs, coiled clay pottery, palm and juncus baskets, bark skirts, dolls, honey gathering buckets, agave fiber net bags and brushes.
The entire family is featured in many sections of Paul D. Campbell's book "Survival Skills of Native California" and the KUMEYAAY.INFO museums and lifestyle documentaries. In addition to speaking fluent Kumeyaay, PaiPai, and Spanish, Manuela has great knowledge of traditional medicines and foods.
