DIGGING WELL WATER

The Kumeyaay Indians in the San Jose de la Zorra valley draw their water from wells, ground water.

Pictured here, Gabriel Diaz uses a pick axe to enlarge one of the community wells. Gabriel began the work by pumping out the water so he could work on the walls and depth.

These men are definately not lazy -- they have working ranches in the ejido and help each other out.
