INDIAN SINGERSYoung Mickey Salazar, Kumeyaay, drove down to the fiesta from San Diego with his mother, Eva Salazar, and his four brothers and sisters to sing Kumeyaay Indian songs with his fellow bird singers. Mickey's mother is from San Jose de la Zorra so they are related to most of the Kumiai indios there. Having already completed his first small juncus basket, Mickey is also learning the art of basket weaving from his mother who is a famous traditional artist.
