ADAM CASTILLO (1885-1953)
Cahuilla, Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians

Adam Castillo (Cahuilla) is perhaps best remembered in Indian Country as the revered 20th century President of the Mission Indian Federation MIF.

Mr. Castillo also served honorably as Chairman of the Soboba Band of Mission Indians (now known as the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians), an indigenous California tribe that has occupied Southern California for thousands of years.

MISSION INDIAN FEDERATION 1920 RIVERSIDE

This 8-foot wide framed historical restoration print of the 1920 MIF Convention in Riverside, California -- dedicated in memory of Ernest Salgado, Sr. by Ahmium Education, Inc. -- is part of the Mission Indian Federation documentary project Ernie Salgado, Jr. is developing “The Struggle, Adaptation and Survival of the Aboriginal Native People.”

January 9, 2010, SCTCA Production Studio: Randy Edmonds and the Dixon women (Pauma band) check out Ernie's 12-foot digital restoration print of an historical 1920 Mission Indian Federation photograph during filming of "The Struggle, Adaptation and Survival of the Aboriginal People in California" documentary.
